Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern play an important role in the North German hydrogen strategy and as part of the future supply infrastructure for hydrogen. I was therefore happy to accept an invitation from the Wasserstoffenergiecluster Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. to Hamburg to take part in a full-day exchange of experiences with northern German H2 experts.
At the premises of EMP AG, we discussed current projects in the region along the entire value chain as well as strategic considerations beyond northern Germany – for example, current issues surrounding the EU Delegate Act, challenges in the certification of green hydrogen as well as requirements and opportunities in international trade with hydrogen and its derivatives. Many thanks to TÜV NORD GROUP, Flughafen Hamburg GmbH, Netzwerk H2BX – Wasserstoff für die Region Bremerhaven e.V., BVMW – Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft e.V., BVMW M-V – Der Mittelstand – Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft, Carneades Hydrogen GmbH, LSA Logistik Service Agentur , Sven Jösting, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Hamburg Senate for their participation and the discussion on concrete challenges in the conversion of the energy infrastructure, as well as Dr Mischa Paterna, who organised the meeting.
